| dc.description | The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of alfalfa flour (Medicago sativa) on productive and health parameters of COBB 500 chickens. 120 experimental units were used, distributed in 12 repetitions randomly divided into 3 treatments (4%, 8%, 12%) and a control. Mean comparisons were made for productive and health parameter variables using the Tukey test at 5%. The results were analyzed using the statistical software InfoStad (2020) and with the help of Microsoft Excel (2022). In addition, descriptive statistics of the variables were performed, measuring central tendency (mean) and dispersion (coefficient of variation, deviation, and standard error of the mean). A highly significant difference (p<0.01) was obtained in the effect of the control treatment against the three treatments, both in productive and health parameters. Additionally, a cost-benefit analysis was conducted, indicating that alfalfa flour at high concentrations is not economically profitable. It is concluded that alfalfa flour has no effect on productive parameters, but it does have a positive effect on health parameters such as Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) in broiler chickens. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | La presente investigación tuvo como finalidad evaluar el efecto de la harina de alfalfa (Medicago sativa) en parámetros productivos y de salud de pollos COBB 500. Se utilizaron 120 unidades experimentales distribuidas en 12 repeticiones que se distribuyeron aleatoriamente en 3 tratamientos (4%, 8%, 12%) y un control, se realizaron comparaciones de medias en las variables de parámetros productivos, salud, por medio de la prueba de tukey al 5%. Los resultados fueron analizados a través del Software estadístico InfoStad (2020) y con ayuda del programa Microsoft Excel (2022). Además, se realizó la estadística descriptiva de las variables, medidas de tendencia central (media) y dispersión (coeficiente de variación, desviación y error estándar de la media). Se obtuvo diferencia altamente significativa (p<0.01) en efecto el tratamiento control tuvo significancia ante los tres tratamientos, parámetros productivos y de salud, adicionalmente se realizó la relación costo beneficio teniendo como respuesta que la harina de alfalfa en altas concentraciones no es rentable económicamente. Se concluye que la harina de alfalfa no tiene efecto en los parámetros productivos, pero sí tiene efecto positivo sobre los parámetros de salud como el VCM (volumen corpuscular medio) en pollos de engorde. | es_ES |
