dc.description | This research consisted of evaluating the effect of including pumpkin silage (Cucurbita maxima) plus hatchery (Trichanthera gigantea) in the diet of growing pigs. The study was carried out at ESPAM-MFL; A Completely Randomized Design was applied with a 2x3 factorial arrangement with an α value of 0.05, 24 genetically crossed piglets with Landrace x York (maternal line) x German Pietrain (paternal line) crossbreeds at 70 days of age were selected; In a shed with individual beds, three treatments were applied: T0, corresponded to the control group, balanced feed for growing pigs 71-99; T1, with 0.50kg of balanced silage; and T2, with 1kg of balanced silage. Each treatment consisted of 8 pigs and they were subdivided into 2 groups (4 females and 4 males). Each piglet was fed twice a day (1.73kg/day), to which silage was added for 4 weeks. Weights were recorded weekly to evaluate variables related to the treatments. The data were analyzed in the Infostat (2020) statistical package to compare the productive parameters between treatments, the results were obtained that there were no statistical differences, except in the accumulated food consumption, the T2 males presented highly significant differences with 49.14 kg (P -value <0.00) and achieved the highest profitability; Also, weight gain in the fourth week presented significant differences with 3.62kg in females with T1 (P-value <0.03); In general, the treatments evaluated did not affect productive performance and the assessment of cortisol levels, an indicator of stress, reported a physiological average (53.4 ng/ml). | es_ES |
| es_ES |
