dc.description	The present research is focused on knowing the trophic condition in Sixto Duran Ballen reservoir of Bolivar Canton; the study was not experimental, monthly samplings were made to measure parameters insitu and laboratory both physicists and chemists; applying Carlson's IET methodology for the analysis of moderated waters which was adapted by Toledo for tropical waters. PH measurements were made with an average of monthly measurements of 9,5; Temperature of 29ºC, CE 202 µS/cm, OD of 6,5 Mg/l, Depth of 0,5 m, PT of 635 u/l and Chlorophyll to 41,7u/l in 5 points; 3 correspond to the river mouths representative by the rivers of Rio Grande, Rio Barro, Rio Caña Grande, and 2 points inside the reservoir. The samplings were done during October, November and December, 2015. With the information obtained Depth, Phosphorus and Chlorophyll were calculated the IET using the modified methodology of Toledo (1982), obtaining general average of the IET of 82 which indicates that the reservoir presents an eutrophic condition because the classification of Toledo. If this value is superior to 55 the aquatic species present in the reservoir will be affected by the excess of nutrients and consequently the proliferation of anoxic algae that makes the oxygen exhausted because of the breathing and decomposition of them, provoking the death by asphyxiation of the organisms.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	La presente investigación se enfoca en conocer el estado trófico del embalse Sixto Duran Ballén del cantón Bolívar; el estudio fue de tipo no experimental, se realizaron muestreos mensuales midiendo parámetros in situ y laboratorio tanto físicos como químicos; aplicando la metodología de análisis del IET de Carlson para aguas templadas el cual fue adaptado por Toledo para aguas tropicales. Se realizaron mediciones de Ph con un promedio de las mediciones mensuales de 9,5; Temperatura de 29, 0C, CE 202 µS/cm, OD de 6,5 Mg/l, Profundidad de 0,5 m, PT de 635 u/l y Clorofila a 41,7u/l en 5 puntos; 3 corresponden a las desembocaduras de los ríos representativos como son Río Grande, Río Barro, Río Caña Grande, y 2 puntos dentro del embalse. Los muestreos se realizaron durante los meses de Octubre, Noviembre y Diciembre 2015. Con los datos obtenidos de Profundidad, Fósforo y Clorofila a se calculó el IET del embalse mediante la metodología modificada por Toledo(1982), donde se obtuvo un promedio general del IET de 82 lo que indica que el embalse presenta un estado eutrófico ya que la clasificación de Toledo considera que si este valor es superior a 55 el embalse en estudio presenta este estado, por tanto las especies acuáticas presentes en el embalse, se verán afectadas por el exceso de nutrientes y consecuentemente la proliferación de algas anóxicas que hacen que se agote el oxígeno por la respiración y descomposición de éstas, provocando la muerte por asfixia de los organismos.	es_ES
