dc.description	The work was carried out during the dry season of 2018, on the polytechnic campus of Escuela Superior Politécnica Agropecuaria de Manabí Manuel Félix López. The main objective of the investigation was to evaluate the sanitary and productive response of the tomato established under different interleaved production systems. The treatments tested were T1 (Tomato + corn + chili + repellent plants), T2 (Tomato + corn + chili), T3 (Tomato + corn + repellent plants), T4 (Tomato + corn), T5 (Tomato + chili + repellent plants), T6 (Tomato + chili), T7 (Tomato + repellent plants) and T8 (tomato monoculture). A randomized complete block design with eight treatments, three replicates and 24 experimental units was used. The main variables evaluated were healthy fruit production and number of shoots damaged by Prodiplosis longifila. The results showed that both the production of healthy fruits and the number of shoots damaged by P. longifila were significantly influenced (p<0.05) by the evaluated treatments, where treatments T1 (Tomato + corn + chili + repellent plants) and T3 ( Tomato + corn + repellent plants) achieved a higher production of healthy fruits and a smaller number of shoots damaged by P. longifila, in relation to the monoculture of the tomato that presented the highest level of damage and the lowest production of healthy fruits. It is concluded that the results support the possibility of the development of a mixture of accompanying plants with the tomato crop that infer "associative resistance" against Prodiplosis longifila.	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	El trabajo se desarrolló durante la época seca del año 2018, en el campus politécnico de la Escuela Superior Politécnica Agropecuaria de Manabí Manuel Félix López. El objetivo principal de la investigación fue evaluar la respuesta sanitaria y productiva del tomate establecido bajo diferentes sistemas intercalados de producción. Los tratamientos probados fueron T1 (Tomate + maíz + ají + plantas repelentes), T2 (Tomate + maíz + ají), T3 (Tomate + maíz + plantas repelentes), T4 (Tomate + maíz), T5 (Tomate + ají + plantas repelentes), T6 (Tomate + ají), T7 (Tomate + plantas repelentes) y T8 (monocultivo de tomate). Se utilizó un diseño de bloques completos al azar con ocho tratamientos, tres replicas y 24 unidades experimentales. Las variables evaluadas fueron producción de frutos sanos y cantidad de brotes dañados por Prodiplosis longifila. Los resultados mostraron que tanto la producción de frutos sanos y la cantidad de brotes dañados por P. longifila fueron influenciados significativamente (p<0.05) por los tratamientos evaluados, donde los tratamientos T1 (Tomate + maíz + ají + plantas repelentes) y T3 (Tomate + maíz + plantas repelentes) alcanzaron mayor producción de frutos sanos y menor cantidad de brotes dañados por P. longifila, en relación al monocultivo que presento el mayor nivel de daño y menor producción de frutos sanos. Se concluye que los resultados respaldan la posibilidad del desarrollo de una mezcla de plantas acompañantes con el cultivo de tomate que infieran "resistencia asociativa" contra Prodiplosis longifila.	es_ES
